Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship

in partnerships with Apprenticeship America

Project Iowa is excited to announce that we are partnering with Apprenticeship America to provide individuals with job training and career placement services in a Diesel Mechanic Apprenticeship (DieselU). Diesel Mechanics are in high demand not only in Iowa, but in the United States as a whole. It has a projected occupational growth of 7% from 2021-2031, with a projected 28,500 job openings in Iowa alone during that time period.

We are able to offer this unique model at no cost to participants due to the generosity of the 2024 Central Iowa Jobs Training Program Grant. This opportunity offers a holistic training program that addresses hard or occupations skills and the soft, interpersonal skills required for this work. Along with a paid apprenticeship (on the job training).

We understand that most people do not have time or the money to go back to further their education in a traditional setting in order to advance their career. The programs are usually expensive and inflexible. Our goal is to provide a debt-free pathway to a higher-paying career. At Project Iowa we believe that opportunities should not be limited because of the barriers of time and money.

During the entire program, Project Iowa will offer you support services.

  • We will  help with any barriers that you might have or that come up during training.
