PROJECT IOWA GRAD: RACHEL GAI

Tell us a little bit about yourself. My name is Rachel Gai and I have four years’ experience in digital marketing, including storytelling, content creation, and social media marketing. I recently graduated with a degree in Business Marketing from Iowa State University with a minor in Apparel, Merchandising and Design. I currently work at ePATHUSA IT Services as their Marketing Specialist to gain knowledge and experience so I can start my own marketing firm soon. I hope to work with beauty, fashion, and lifestyle brands. During my free time, I like to design and sew my own clothes, read amazing books, play with my puppy, and listen to music. I hope to inspire people by spreading positivity through art and fashion.

When did you participate in Project Iowa? May 3rd, 2021

Why did you participate in Project Iowa? To learn more about my skills and gain confidence applying and interviewing for jobs.

Describe your experience with Project Iowa and working through the program. My experience with Project Iowa was inspiring. I enjoyed all the classes and connecting with other likeminded individuals. Each class taught me something new about myself & and showed me how I can change my life. My mindset changed drastically because I had the knowledge of the Power of Thought. I am now able to identify my feelings and find ways to cope with them. In addition, I can identify my transferable skills and find ways to make myself a considerable prospect for employers. I recommend Project Iowa to people trying to find themselves.

Did you find your purpose by working with Project Iowa? Explain. Yes, I found my purpose. My purpose is to help and inspire others through storytelling, art, and fashion.

What are you doing differently now because you went through Project Iowa? Ever since going through Project Iowa I am now in control of my destiny. I am more aware of what I want, and I am not afraid of asking for it.

Why does Project Iowa matter? Project Iowa matters because it is important for people to have a support system. Having people listen to your story and uplift you can go a long way in gaining confidence and I believe Project Iowa instilled that in many people. The staff and instructors care about the students and go above and beyond to help them.
Why should others use Project Iowa’s services?
People should use this service because the information taught is priceless. I learned many valuable skills and I think everyone should go through this service at least once in their lives. Others can also build lifelong relationships with people who care for them.
